AdBlue Solutions by Petrotec

Since January 2015, within the context of the Euro 6 standard, the legislation limiting exhaust emissions is covering all diesel vehicles (not just heavy-duty vehicles). With concern for the environment, the purpose was making vehicles more ecological, by restricting emitted quantities of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrocarbon gases.

What is AdBlue?

AdBlue is a chemical of synthetic origin (a mixture of 32.5% high-purity Urea and 67.5% demineralized water), providing a reduction of emission levels in vehicles equipped with diesel engines and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. Technically designated as AUS 32, it is also known as DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) in the United States and as ARLA 32 in Brazil. Throughout Europe, it is regulated under the DIN 7007 standard.

How does it work?

Stored in a specific tank in the vehicle, AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system to neutralize the polluting emissions of NOx into the atmosphere.

Following this process, the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology of diesel engines changes the chemical make-up of nitrogen oxides (NOx), breaking them down into harmless water vapour and nitrogen gas.
